Most RV Battery Problems Are Diagnosed Wrong
A battery that tests fine on a basic voltmeter can still fail under load. A battery that reads 12.6V sitting on the shelf can drop to 10V the moment you try to run your slides or start your generator. Voltage alone doesn't tell you whether a battery can actually do its job.
EliteRV performs load testing — not just voltage checks — on house batteries and chassis batteries. Load testing applies a controlled draw to the battery and measures how it responds under real-world conditions. That's how you find a battery that's about to fail before it strands you.
We also inspect the full 12V system: the converter, the charge controller, the wiring, and the connections. A bad battery is sometimes a symptom of a charging system that's been undercharging or overcharging the bank for months.

House Battery Load Testing
We apply a controlled load to each house battery and measure voltage drop and recovery. This identifies batteries that appear healthy on a voltmeter but will fail under real use.
Chassis Battery Testing & Replacement
The chassis battery starts your engine and powers your coach electronics when shore power is disconnected. We test it under load and replace it when it no longer meets spec.
AGM Battery Replacement
Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are the most common upgrade from flooded lead-acid. They charge faster, last longer, and require no maintenance. We stock and install AGM batteries for most RV applications.
Flooded Lead-Acid Replacement
Standard flooded batteries are still the right choice for many applications. We replace them with correctly sized, correctly rated batteries and verify the charging system is set up to charge them properly.
Lithium Battery Upgrades
Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries offer significantly more usable capacity, faster charging, and longer cycle life than lead-acid alternatives. We assess your system, size the bank correctly, and handle the full installation including any converter or charger upgrades required.
12V System & Wiring Inspection
Corroded terminals, undersized wiring, and loose connections cause more battery failures than the batteries themselves. We inspect the full 12V circuit from the battery bank to the distribution panel.
Converter & Charger Inspection
A converter that's not charging correctly will kill a new battery bank in a season. We verify your converter or charger is operating within spec and outputting the correct charge profile for your battery type.

Which Battery Is Right for Your RV?
Flooded Lead-Acid
The original RV battery. Inexpensive, widely available, and proven. Requires periodic water top-offs and proper ventilation. Best for RVers who aren't boondocking and have reliable shore power access.
AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)
The most popular upgrade. Sealed, maintenance-free, and more tolerant of partial states of charge than flooded batteries. Charges faster and handles deeper discharge cycles better. A solid choice for most RV applications.
Lithium (LiFePO4)
The premium option. Roughly twice the usable capacity of AGM at the same rated amp-hour, significantly lighter, and rated for 2,000–5,000 charge cycles vs. 300–500 for lead-acid. The right choice for full-timers, frequent boondockers, and solar setups. Requires a compatible charger.
