RV Rooftop AC Repair — Palmetto, FL

RV Air Conditioner Repair & Replacement

Not cooling? Running but warm? Loud and rattling? We diagnose and fix rooftop RV AC units — Dometic, Coleman, Carrier, and Advent — at our Palmetto facility.

Florida Heat Is Hard on RV AC Units

A rooftop RV air conditioner works harder in Southwest Florida than almost anywhere else in the country. Year-round heat, high humidity, and the constant vibration of road travel stress every component — capacitors, fan motors, refrigerant lines, and control boards. When the unit stops keeping up, or stops working entirely, the inside of your RV becomes uninhabitable fast.

EliteRV diagnoses and repairs rooftop AC units at our Palmetto facility. We work on all major brands — Dometic, Coleman, Carrier, and Advent — and carry common replacement parts to minimize turnaround time. If repair isn't cost-effective, we'll tell you honestly and handle the full unit replacement.

Common Questions

How do I know if my RV AC needs repair or full replacement?

If the unit is under 10 years old and the failure is a capacitor, fan motor, or control board, repair is almost always the right call. If the compressor has failed, refrigerant has leaked out of a cracked line, or the unit is over 10–12 years old and losing efficiency, replacement is usually more cost-effective. We'll give you an honest assessment after diagnosis.

What does RV AC repair typically cost?

Capacitor replacement runs $150–$350 including labor. Fan motor replacement is typically $250–$500. A full rooftop unit replacement — parts and labor — generally ranges from $900 to $1,800 depending on the brand and BTU rating. We provide a written estimate before any work begins.

Can you work on my RV's AC while I wait?

Simple repairs like capacitor or thermostat replacement can often be completed same-day. Fan motor and full unit replacements typically require scheduling and may take one to two days depending on parts availability. Call us at (941) 981-5366 to discuss your timeline.

Do you service both the rooftop AC unit and the dash AC in motorhomes?

Yes. We service rooftop RV AC units on all RV types, and we also handle chassis and dash AC repair on motorhomes. Those are separate systems — the rooftop unit cools the living area, while the dash AC cools the cab. We can diagnose and repair both.

My RV has two AC units — can you service both?

Yes. Multi-unit systems are common on larger Class A and Class C motorhomes and fifth wheels. We can service or replace both units and check that the Comfort Control System or thermostat is communicating correctly with each zone.
