RV slide-out floor rebuild — before and after water damage restoration at EliteRV Palmetto, FL

When a Slide-Out Needs More Than Mechanical Repair

Most slide-out problems are mechanical — a failed motor, a stripped gear, a worn seal. But when water gets into a slide-out and sits long enough, the damage goes structural. Subfloors rot. Framing softens. Wall panels delaminate. At that point, fixing the motor doesn't fix the problem.

EliteRV handles the full scope of slide-out structural work: subfloor replacement, framing rebuild, wall panel repair, new flooring installation, and complete slide-out replacement when the damage is too extensive to restore. We also address the source of the water intrusion so the same problem doesn't recur.

If your slide-out floor feels soft, spongy, or uneven — or if you can see visible damage to the walls or ceiling inside the slide — call us before the damage spreads further into the main coach.

What We Do

Subfloor Replacement

Rotted or water-damaged subfloor material is removed and replaced with new structural substrate. We match the original construction method and material thickness to restore the slide to factory spec.

Flooring Installation

New flooring — vinyl plank, laminate, or carpet — is installed over the rebuilt subfloor. We match the existing coach flooring where possible, or help you select a replacement that works with your interior.

Structural Framing Rebuild

Damaged or rotted framing members inside the slide-out box are replaced. This is the structural skeleton of the slide — it must be sound before any finish work is done.

Delaminated Wall Repair

Slide-out walls that have separated from their substrate are re-bonded or replaced. Delamination is usually caused by water intrusion and will continue to spread if not addressed.

Water Damage Restoration

We remove all damaged material, treat for mold where present, dry the structure, and rebuild from the substrate up. This is the same process we use on main-coach water damage.

Full Slide-Out Replacement

When a slide-out is too far gone to restore cost-effectively, we can source and install a replacement slide box. This is less common but is the right call when structural damage is extensive.

Seal & Weatherstrip Replacement

After any structural rebuild, all perimeter seals and weatherstripping are inspected and replaced as needed to ensure the slide is watertight before it goes back into service.

Signs Your Slide-Out Needs Structural Work

Soft, spongy, or bouncy floor inside the slide-out
Visible water staining on the slide floor, walls, or ceiling
Bubbling, peeling, or separating wall panels
Musty or mildew smell when the slide is extended
Flooring that is lifting, buckling, or separating at the seams
Visible mold or dark staining on the subfloor or framing
Slide-out that is sagging or not sitting level when extended
History of a failed seal or water intrusion around the slide opening

How We Approach Slide-Out Structural Repair

Step 1

Full Assessment

We extend the slide and inspect the floor, walls, ceiling, framing, and seals. We identify all damaged material and the source of any water intrusion before quoting the job.

Step 2

Scope & Quote

We provide a written scope of work and a clear quote before any repair begins. No surprises. If we find additional damage during the repair, we contact you before proceeding.

Step 3

Structural Rebuild

Damaged material is removed, the structure is dried and treated, and new framing, subfloor, and wall material is installed to restore structural integrity.

Step 4

Finish & Seal

New flooring is installed, all seals and weatherstripping are replaced, and the slide is tested through multiple cycles to confirm it operates correctly and is watertight.

Slide-Out Rebuild vs. Slide-Out Repair

EliteRV handles both mechanical slide-out repair (motors, gears, alignment, seals) and structural slide-out rebuild (subfloor, framing, flooring, wall panels). These are often related — a failed seal that went unaddressed for a season can turn a $400 seal replacement into a $3,000 structural rebuild.

If you're not sure which category your problem falls into, call us. We'll assess the slide and tell you exactly what's going on before recommending any work.

Common Questions

Common questions about slide-out structural repair and flooring replacement.

Don't Let Slide Damage Spread Into the Main Coach

Water damage in a slide-out moves fast. What starts as a soft spot in the floor can spread into the main coach walls and subfloor within a season. EliteRV is in Palmetto, FL — call us or request service online.
